The BAS Board are delighted to announce that Australian International Fibre Expert Cameron Holt has accepted their invitation to attend the World Alpaca Conference as their honoured guest.

The Board invited Cameron in recognition for the work he has done for the Society and British Alpaca industry since it’s inception. Cameron’s work has laid the foundations by which Alpaca fleece is judged across the world. He wrote the fleece judging rules for Alpaca associations on three continents and continues to work closely with alpaca judges the world over to refine the fleece judging protocols and manuals.

The World Alpaca Conference is a charity event, hosted by the British Alpaca Society, in which all profits will be donated to AMANTANI UK. This worthy charity provides boarding and educational facilities in Ccorca, Peru, for local children.  By attending, it is your chance to give something back to where it all began.....

Oxford, a fine medieval city, has grown to be a place of excellence with the University at its heart. Keble College is one of the University's colleges and has been the location for many well-known movies, hosted numerous conferences and seen scores of celebrities and royalty grace it's stunning quadrangle. Now is your chance to see it for yourself.  A full programme is planned for the Conference but you will also have the opportunity to venture into Oxford and see the many sights of this historic city, the colleges, churches, quaint old pubs to say nothing of the fabulous shopping experience!  Visit The Oxford Tourist Board for more local places of interest.

If you wish to extend your stay, extra nights can be booked at Keble College before and after the World Alpaca Conference.

Oxford Travel Tours/SHO4, will be happy to help with all your travel arrangements, answer questions about tours or arrange trips to places that you might like to visit whilst staying in the UK - perhaps some alpaca farms or extend your stay for the Alpaca 2012 Show the next weekend?   Take a look at some of their pre-arranged tours or speak to them about your own plans.
